MatchGen Luv ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the MatchGen Luv mobile application ("App").

Developer and Contact

MatchGen Luv is operated for the MatchGen Luv app. For privacy questions, use in-app support or email support@matchgen.co.za.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use the App:

Account information: Name, email address, phone number when provided, date of birth or age information, and gender or dating preferences provided during registration or profile setup.
Profile information: Photos, bio, location, career, interests, verification status, preferences, and any other content you add to your profile.
Usage data: Swipe activity, matches, chat activity, group participation, reports, support requests, notifications data, and in-app actions needed to run the App.
Device and notification information: Device type, operating system, push notification token, and permission status where needed for app functionality.
Payment entitlement information: Subscription purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not store your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account
To show you relevant profiles and matches
To enable group creation, posting, and messaging features
To send push notifications about matches, messages, and activity
To process premium subscriptions via Google Play Billing
To operate WingGen matching assistance, including optional AI-assisted replies when you enable them
To provide support, safety tools, moderation, report review, fraud prevention, and account deletion
To improve app performance and fix issues
To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service

3. WingGen and AI Service Providers

If you enable WingGen AI replies, MatchGen may send your WingGen message and a compact summary of possible profile matches to Microsoft Azure OpenAI to draft a reply. The compact summary may include profile name, age, location, bio, career, face-verification status, approximate distance, and match reasons. MatchGen does not send profile photos to Azure OpenAI for WingGen replies.

Do not enter passwords, OTPs, payment details, identity numbers, private documents, or other highly sensitive information into WingGen. You can report a WingGen AI reply in the App for review.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Storage, and Google Cloud infrastructure. We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted network transport where applicable, access controls, and server-side secrets for service-provider credentials. No system can guarantee absolute security.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

Google Firebase / Google Cloud: For app infrastructure, authentication, and storage.
Google Play Billing: For processing in-app subscription payments.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): For delivering push notifications.
Email, support, and notification service providers: For support, transactional messages, and app notifications.
Face-verification providers: For verification and safety features when you use them.
Microsoft Azure OpenAI: For optional WingGen AI-assisted replies when you enable AI replies.
Law enforcement: If required by law or to protect user safety.

6. Your Profile and Other Users

Your profile (name, photos, bio) is visible to other users of the App. You can edit or delete your profile at any time from the Settings screen.

7. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for matches, messages, and group activity. You can disable these at any time in your device settings.

8. Data Retention

We keep data as long as needed to provide the service, enforce safety rules, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or comply with legal obligations. Payment records may be retained in anonymised form for legal compliance. Trust and safety reports may be retained after account deletion with reporter identity stripped when appropriate.

9. Children's Privacy

MatchGen Luv is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has registered, we will delete their account immediately.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time
Choose whether to enable WingGen AI replies
Report AI replies, users, profiles, or messages in the App for review

When your account is deleted, associated account data is deleted unless limited retention is required for legal, payment, fraud-prevention, or trust and safety reasons. To exercise these rights, use app settings, in-app support, or contact us at the email below.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
