Delete Your MatchGen Luv Account
You can request deletion of your MatchGen Luv account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion and what data is removed.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1 — In the App (recommended)
- Open the MatchGen Luv app on your device
- Go to your Profile
- Tap Settings
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Your account will be deleted immediately and you will be signed out.
Option 2 — Email Request
If you cannot access the app, send a deletion request by email to:
support@matchgen.co.za
Include your registered email address or phone number so we can locate your account. We will process your request within 7 days.
What Data is Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your profile (name, photos, bio, preferences)
- Your matches and connection requests
- Your chat messages
- Your group posts and comments
- Your group memberships
- Your push notification token
- Your account credentials (email, phone number)
What Data May Be Retained
The following data may be retained where needed for legal, payment, fraud-prevention, or trust and safety purposes:
- Reports you submitted against other users, with reporter identity stripped when appropriate
- Reports filed against your account, retained for safety review
- Payment entitlement and purchase records retained in anonymised or limited form where required for legal compliance
- Security, fraud-prevention, and audit records needed to protect users and the service
MatchGen Luv does not store payment card details. Subscription payments are processed by Google Play. Any active Premium subscription must be cancelled separately in Google Play.
Note: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you have an active premium subscription, please cancel it in Google Play before deleting your account to avoid further charges.
